Vintage Tibetan silvered copper Ghau / Gau portable prayer shrine in carry case

  

An interesting vintage Tibetan portable deity shrine / prayer box. Made primarily of copper with a silvered or tinned front plate. The clay deity rests upon a blue fabric prayer'pillow' to be viewed behind the glass aperture. The shrine has a nicely embroidered case with shoulder strap for portability.

Date: 2nd half 20th Century. The copper box is tarnished and has been left uncleaned. The case is in fair condition with minor wear. Case (approx) Height: 13 cm (5") Width: 11 cm (4-1/4") Depth: 5 cm (2).
