From a Tucson, Arizona collector's estate. Vintage Navajo striped saddle blanket with designs at 4 corners. Measures 30.5 inches by 30.5 inches. In his list he calls it "old" so it was probably made circa 1950's. Classic simplicity in design much like a Second Phase Chief's Blanket. This is the kind of weaving that works equally well in a Southwestern decor or in a modern decor, on the floor or on the wall. Some call it "tribal modern"! There are several very, very slight spots of red bleed.

Looks like some of the red areas got wet, then the blanket was folded and the red dye leached onto some other areas. Possibly because it was actually used as a saddle blanket. I did my best to highlight any damage in the photos, but if you need more info about a specific area, please message me. The bleed is relatively minor and hardly affects how the blanket looks while displayed.
