Vintage Indian Silk Painting of a Maharaja on Elephant, Framed & Glazed

  

A beautifully painted Indian scene of a Maharaja riding an elephant on silk. Sumptuous colours and richly embellished with gold which really catches the light. Great attention to detail with finely painted lines. The framing looks to be from the 90's, painting may be older.

Frame size 40.5 x 35.5cm. Painting in fine order, frame with minor wear and a couple of knocks along the bottom edge. Height: 26.5 cm (10 3/8 inch) visible painting. Width: 21.3 cm (8 3/8 inch) visible painting.
