Southern Indian Carved Wooden Goblet. A detailed carved wooden cup with twin handles and lid. It rather looks like a trophy although it was probably never intended as such.
The lid is set with a fine carving of a Makara from Hindu mythology. There is carved detail around the body and the handles are also hand carved. It likely dates to the early or mid 20th century. Both the handles broken through the lower point and repaired, quite well done and certainly good enough for display. Nailheads visible inside the goblet where one handle was reattached.Height: 25.5 cm (10 inch) including lid. Width: 16 cm (6 inch) across handles.
Weight: 406 grams (before packing). If for any reason you are unhappy with your item please let us know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to put things right. This item is in the category "Antiques\Asian/Oriental Antiques\Indian".
