Vintage hand-carved lampstand, bought in India 1930-40's and now rare

Vintage hand-carved lampstand, bought in India 1930-40's and truly unusual and perhaps unique. A true talking point as well as a good strong tall lampstand. Has a lampshade which fits it well, cannot say if it is original to the lampstand. Brought back to this country in 1950 and used carefully since. 153cm high to top of carved section and 185cm to top of lampshade.

Base is approximately 29cm diameter and the stem is 9.5cm diameter (about 28cm circumference). Fitted with traditional 240v bayonet light fitting.
