A larger vintage Tibetan travelling / folding prayer table. Decorated with various significant Buddhist emblems including a Tibetan Flag of Victory, crossed thunderbolts, the eternal knot. And a pair of roaring snow lions. The Lion's Roar, of course, a frequent metaphor for the awakening dharma of the Buddha. Painted polychrome panels in sacred saffron and vermillion.

Has been sourced from Kathmandu in Nepal though probably originated in Tibet. A Tibetan Victory Banner framed by a pair of roaring snow lions forms the lead image.

Symbols of enlightenment and awakening dharma. The artist has drawn on a crossed vajra motif, the destroyer of ignorance, as inspiration for the top panel. The victory banner was adopted by early Buddhism as an emblem of the Buddha's enlightenment, heralding the triumph of knowledge over ignorance.
