D escription: Vintage Rajasthan India Silver Serpentine three strand Chain belt. Vintage Rajasthan India Silver Serpentine Chain Belt Made of 3 strands of trichinopoly chain (or Viking knit) 30 Long - Flexible and sinuous Weight: 100 grams silver alloy Connected by 10 bar stations & a Beautiful screw-clasp buckle with bird design to either side of the buckle design The smooth silver serpentine chains are flexible and supple to the touch Screw Closure Buckle The screw that closes the buckle is anti-clockwise, typical of old Indian belts the screw threads From southern India in the late 19th to early 20th century The silver content of these old belts runs between. This belt tested in that range - as expected with traditional Indian silver there are no hallmarks but there is a stamp mark to the rear of the buckle which may be the craftsman maker mark uncertain of this but there for you to see. Dimensions: 30 inches long or 76 cms long, the buckle measures 5 cms long by 2.5 cms at its widest. The three strand is one cm wide.
