They were made by Lohars - itinerant metal workers in Rajasthan by riveting or hammer welding plates of iron together. They have become popular again now because of their use as fire bowls in Rajasthani Palace hotels in the winter, an idea which has now been exported to the UK, where they make great all year around fire pits and BBQ's. Supplied with a strong iron stand these large kadai are the perfect size for sitting around at night or for use as a barbecue. Please don't confuse our Kadai with the cheap replicas now found in every garden centre.
These are the original real deal, are very heavy and will last a lifetime.
