Heavy Indian brass Monkeys, not needed with the British weather! Altogether 2.4Kg, these are quite large statues, 5.25" (135mm) high, base 4.25" x 3.25 (110 x 85mm).

One monkey has been in a fight it seems, with a smaller right ear... Potentially suitable as bookends or very fancy doorstops. The ears and long tail suggest that the statues represent Bonnet Macaque monkeys (Macaca Radiata).

A common enough monkey found in India, it has a tail longer than its head or body. In fact, the bonnet macaques have the longest tail among all monkeys found in India.

Found in peninsular India, these macaques are often seen sitting in a group of 20-30 feeding on the ground or sitting on trees.
