A beautiful and unusual hand cast bronze figure representing a winged Centaur, a mythological figure. Cast using the lost wax method, the ancient art of cire-perdue practiced by the tribal people of India since the pre-historic time of Harappa and Mohanjo-Daro period of the Indus Valley Civilisation and believed to be the oldest craft in India.

Recycled brass and natural beeswax are used in the making process, and only one piece can be made from each mould, so no two pieces will ever be identical. The figure is highly decorative and would make a fascinating talking piece for any collector of horses, bronzes, mythological beasts, tribal art, etc. This is a substantial piece and extremely heavy weighing 3.166 kg, and measuring 29cm long x 27.5cm tall. Please check out the photographs thoroughly as they form part of the description.
