Antique Indian Kashmir Copper ewer, pitcher, jug, kettle. Intricately Carved decorative scrolls and floral design - mid 19th Century. 210mm high x 210mm wide. 1100 grams / 1.1 kilos.

A lovely mid 19th Century tinned copper lidded water ewer from the Kashmir region of Northern India. The body has profuse foliate design. The lid is similarly decorated and is hinged from the top of the shapely brass handle in the manner of a stylised serpent. It comes with its original pierced brass filter VERY unusual to have this intact.

The item has very few marks considering its age. I have deliberately not cleaned this item and it will polish up superbly! My step-mother was a natural wonder.

She hailed from France but travelled the world and for a while worked in the film industry where she met my father. Over her lifetime she acquired a wonderful collection of folk & ethnic vintage jewellery as well as a collection of late 19th century Moroccan and Middle Eastern furniture. Sadly she passed away in 2019 and then my father followed her in 2021.

My wife and I have held onto all these items but have concluded that its time to sell them on to someone who will wear and treasure them once again. Please take a look at the other items I have for sale. I can post this out to you.
