Indian antique brass or bronze mold used to cast gold and silver jewelry. This is very old and had been used for ages. You can see it has been actually used by a jeweler for a long time.
It's not made for the tourist trade. It has mold for at least 16 different designs of jewelry.
It is so thick and heavy I can't imagine how they broke the corner off. I bought it years ago from a jeweler in Khajaraho India. The village with the erotic temples. The mold measures 3 1/4 by 2 3/4 inches.
