Unique Indian Royal Agra Rug 445x302cm. Beautiful unique one-off Indian Royal Agra rug. Royal Agra rugs are of a Persian design, but are woven round the towns of Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Mirzapur and Bhadohi.

This hand knotted wool design is upon a cotton warp and woven entirely by hand. The wool yarn is cut from the sheep, dyed using vegetable dyes and spun by hand.

The rug is meticulously woven into this gorgeous repeat pattern with intricate border using a Senneh knot. With a gold base colour, tones of rust, petrol and soft pink/sage help the pattern contrast beautifully. Large in size and weighing 40kg, this is a beautiful piece that sadly does not fit in our new home so were sadly having to part ways.

In near perfect condition with no immediate signs of wear and tear. Open to sensible offers only. Collection from Castlefield, Manchester M15.
