Giant Antique / Vintage Capistrano Mission Indian Basket Lots Of Design Old

A very large and old example of a Mission Indian basket from the area near the Mission San Juan Capistrano in southern California. It has a warm and mellow old patina. Scores of the " fag ends " show and the basket looks to have been made for native use. An early example of southern California history and worthy of any high grade collection, it has NO RESERVE! 17 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest points and approx. CONDITION: Clean and nice with some tpyical wear for age/use as expected. The top coil has cracked in places and there are some stitches off the rim and a small area of wear as shown in the sidewall of the basket at one point.
